3. REBORN WARSAW
„Reborn from ashes like a phoenix” – this sentence is one of Warsaw other names and the name of the third Warsaw guided tour. This beautiful city was destroyed in 85% by Nazi troops during WWII. Consequently after the war, Warsaw was the sea of rubble. Many didn’t believe that the city could be reborn. However, thanks to the generous work of Poles from all over the country, Warsaw was rebuilt. New settlements and streets were laid out, often destroying the prewar urban order. The city became a showcase of new times and a new system.
During the BASIC version of this Warsaw guided tour you will see the city center – surroundings of the Palace of Culture and the Old Town – a gorgeous example of near-total reconstruction. EXTENDED version of the tour will also show you a modern business center and places where remnants of the old city are incorporated into new modern layout.
