HOW TO FEEL WARSAW BEAUTY?

The best idea to feel the beauty of the city is to admire Warsaw panoramic view. And you have a really wide range of places to do so.  You can walk on one of the bridges and the best one to do so is Śląsko-Dąbrowski Bridge near the Old Town. The great idea is to take a walk along the Vistula Boulevards. You can easily admire there the right bank of the river with its rich greenery.

Some Warsaw hotels are in a high sky-scrapers, so you may ask for a room with a view.

Absolutely amazing idea is to admire Warsaw panoramic view at night, going to Panorama Sky Bar on the top floor of Marriott Hotel or to a roof music club Level 27.

Personally, I recommend one of my Warsaw guided tours, where you see the beauty of Warsaw in its diversity.

There are some viewpoints which are easily accessible. You can find below three of the most popular ones. You can easily see them during one day.

Warsaw panoramic view from GNOJNA GÓRA

This place is in the Old Town, not too far from the Old Town Market Square. Literal translation of Gnojna Góra is the Dung Hill.  Hundreds years ago there was the dump for the Old Town there. The viewing point is on the top of the escarpment. You can easily see the river and its another bank, the nearest bridge and the National Soccer Stadium. Notice that another bank is not regulated with a lot of trees and wild beaches more you can find here.  While admiring the view, you can lean against a railing with hanging padlocks with written names or initials. They are symbols of love hung by couples in love.

Warsaw panoramic view from THE GARDEN ON THE ROOF OF THE LIBRARY OF WARSAW UNIVERSITY

This place is worth visiting not only because of the view, but also thanks to a beautiful park and a modern architecture. The viewing point is on the roof of a concrete building of University Library. It is at 12 Lipowa st, on a corner with Dobra st. You can easily walk there from Krakowskie Przemieście St (the part of the Royal Route) through Karowa St near Bristol hotel.  The garden on the roof is one of the biggest in Europe – it has 2000 sq.m. From the top you can see the river with its another bank, the Old Town with the Royal Castle and the part of a modern city center. This view convinces you that Warsaw is located on the escarpment, what is difficult to notice in the city.

It’s open between 1st of April and 31st of October (from 8am-to 6pm in April and October and the other months till 8pm). The entrance is free.

Warsaw panoramic view from 30TH FLOOR OF THE PALACE OF CULTURE AND SCIENCE

The Palace of Culture is a huge building in the center. It is near the Warsaw Central Railway Station and Świętokrzyska Metro Station. with the main entrance from Defilad Sq.

The terrace is at the level of 114 m and going there by a lift takes 19 secs. On the top you can see Warsaw from 4 sides. It’s nice when you visit the Old Town first and then find this district from the terrace (small tip – look for a place with many orange/brown roofs next to the river). I like the breathtaking view of modern city from there. But you have to choose a good weather then. If it’s raining or misty you won’t be able to see anything.  Take a jacket to the top, because it could be windy up there.

It’s open daily 10am-8pm and tickets cost 20 pln/regular.
